1. Service

TossOrKeep provides food shelf-life estimates, spoilage signs, storage notes, and a browser-based fridge tracker. The service is designed for household planning and food-waste reduction.

2. No food-safety guarantee

Food safety depends on storage temperature, packaging, handling, contamination, product formulation, and manufacturer instructions. TossOrKeep guidance is general information only. It is not medical advice, professional inspection, a guarantee that food is safe, or a replacement for product labels and official food-safety guidance.

If food smells unusual, looks mouldy, has a slimy texture, has damaged packaging, has been stored warm, or you are unsure, discard it.

3. User responsibility

• Use your own judgement before eating any food.
• Follow product labels when they give a shorter or more specific instruction.
• Keep chilled food at safe refrigerator temperatures.
• Do not rely on TossOrKeep for allergies, medical diets, infant feeding, pregnancy advice, immunocompromised diets, or commercial food handling.

4. Local fridge tracker

The fridge tracker stores items in your browser local storage. We do not guarantee that local data will remain available. Clearing browser data, switching devices, or browser restrictions may remove saved items.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not attack, scrape abusively, overload, or reverse engineer the site.
• Do not attempt to access admin endpoints or private data.
• Do not use the service for unlawful, unsafe, misleading, or commercial food-safety certification purposes.
• Do not copy substantial parts of the database or generated pages without permission.

6. Advertising and affiliate links

The site may show Google AdSense ads after consent and may include affiliate links. Advertising and affiliate revenue help fund the free service. Ads and links do not change the food guidance. Ad interactions must be genuine; do not click ads to support the site.

7. Intellectual property

TossOrKeep's design, copy, generated page templates, and database organisation are owned by the site operator or licensed to the site. You may link to public pages and quote short excerpts with attribution.

8. Availability

We may change, pause, remove, or stop parts of the service at any time. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free content.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TossOrKeep is provided as-is. We are not liable for loss, illness, food waste, business interruption, or other damage arising from use of the site or reliance on its guidance. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless consumer protection law gives you mandatory rights elsewhere.
